Head Massage explanation |
|
Indian
Head Massage has been practised in India for over 5000 years.
Coming from the Ayurveda holistic healing system of medicine.
Traditionally it was practised by women to improve and keep
their hair shiny and in good condition. The techniques were
passed down from generation to generation and babies and young
children were massaged everyday and then taught to give a
massage to other family members. Men would receive a very
vigorous head massage from their barber when they went to
have a hair cut.
Todays
Indian Head Massage is a less vigorous massage adapted for
the west incorporating the upper back, neck, shoulders and
face.
